rich mining and ranching history along the back roads. Following the route
of the original Overland Road, we begin high in the Ponderosa Pines, and
descend into the Verde Valley. Across the Verde River we climb towards
Woodchute Mountain, offering panoramic views of the Red Rocks of Sedona, the
Verde Valley, Cottonwood, and Mt. Humphreys - Arizona’s highest peak. Next we
visit the legendary mining ghost town of Jerome, then finally on to visit
the Gold King mine, where you will be amazed and amused at the collection of
mining memorabilia, vintage automobiles, and antique equipment still in
operation today. A five hour trip!
